Sunny and Safe Day!

Well, day one was a sunny, safe, and fun day of travel. We departed at 7am this morning and arrived in Independence, Ohio at 3:30 pm. 472 easy driving miles. 81 degrees upon arrival and we quickly made our way to the outdoor pool and Jacuzzi.

We experienced a unique and delicious dinner at Melt Bar and Grill. http://meltbarandgrilled.com/

Mary had the Godfather Lasagna sandwich above, John ate the Parma Italy, and I attempted to finish the Fish and Chips sandwich. I also had a glass of Southern Teir Warlock Imperial Stout brewed with fresh pumpkins. Oh my! Might be the best beverage I have ever tasted.

I am thankful for this first day of our journey. Now to watch some NY Giants Football!

  1. Nice talking to you while you were on the road. And many thanks for on the spot reporting of the Ohio road work. It did not slow us up at all. We did very well and are safe and resting in Maumee where we found a great comfort Inn for just $39 on a coupon. However, I dropped the Felippe Segundo Brandy so that spilled $20 across the sidewalk. Win some, lose some. Tomorrow we will be at out destination in Lakeside and settling in. You will still be barnstorming on the roadtrip of a lifetime. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!
